Jabeena was given a long service award at the Pentathlon GB Centenary Event on 26th August 2023, one of 11 announced at a special ceremony in front of 230 guests at the Bath Pump Rooms.
Pentathlon GB said: "All recipients have made a significant contribution to our sport over many years, and it was great to celebrate their many achievements as part of the 2023 Modern Pentathlon World Championship event."
Jabeena helped team GB to an incredible performance at the World Championships at the University of Bath, with a seven strong squad qualifying across the women’s and men’s finals.
Super Sunday saw both finals take place for the world titles and Olympic qualifications. GB was the only women’s team to have all four athletes qualify for the final, maximising their chances for the Paris Olympics 2024. Joe Choong, who is trained by Jabeena, won gold.
Pentathlon GB won silver in both team events, with Choong being joined on the men’s podium by Myles Pillage and Charlie Brown. Kerenza Bryson won bronze. Olivia Green and Jess Varley completed the women’s team and all four British women, including Emma Whitaker, were placed in the top 10 of the individual rankings.
